To obtain a credential in California, it is necessary for candidates to demonstrate subject matter competency in the area in which they are assigned to teach. Candidates are advised to have university transcripts evaluated by a credential analyst to determine subject matter competency and to determine which CSET or SSAT exams are necessary for credentialing in the area of expertise desired.
The University of San Francisco, the Exploratorium, Kings, Santa Cruz and the Ventura County Offices of Education have joined together to construct these innovative courses in subject matter preparation for California teachers. Any uncredentialed teacher (pre-intern or intern) in a TLI participating program may register for these courses. Credentialed teachers seeking secondary authorization may also apply. If your support program is not a member of our partnership, please have your program director contact us for more information on how they can join the TLI.
